My Delightful Morning Walk!

Ok...I think I am on the letter D. The first word that came to me today was delightful. That is precisely how I would describe my walk early this morning. My walking partner, Lorie and her little dog, Corky were not able to keep me company today so it gave me some extra time to ponder and marvel at the beauty surrounding me.

The most "delightful" part was walking under all the flower covered trees along the way. The gentle breeze teased the colorful petals into sprinkling them down upon my head as I walked under the branches and made me feel very special. It was such an uplifting experience and something that will be staying with me for a long time;-)

For those of you who have chosen to take the May "challenge"...I hope you are enjoying this as much as I am!

Keeping Up with the Challenge

Well, it is another day and I think I am on the letter C...

Color comes to mind and it's a natural because it is also something I love! This morning on my walk I noticed all the beautiful flowers as well as the flowing bushes and trees. My favorite is the Jacaranda tree with its beautiful purple display and lucky for me, there happens to be one two doors away at the back of our circle. Unfortunately, as gorgeous as they are, Jacarandas do not stay in bloom for very long, but while they are, WOW;-)

I am also very pleased that my gardenia bush has finally flowered. This is a first for it since I planted it over a year ago. I am learning that as with most worthwhile things, patience is paramount!

Well, that's it for C...now I have to start thinking of a D...??? This is really fun and I keep hoping some of you might try it too;-)

Since I am already behind...I will also do a B;-)

B...birth. I am a small town girl who grew up in Michigan. The thumb of Michigan to be more precise. I spent many of my summers with some of my cousins in the early years on my Aunt Ila's farm. I am so sad that my children/grandchildren will never have the opportunity to drive a tractor or attend a little one room country schoolhouse.

I remember the smells of fresh baked breads and homemade soups in my aunt's country kitchen for the work hands during harvesting time. Also, riding on my cousin's horse and running through the fields and hiding in the straw stacks. I wish every child could have this opportunity....thanks Aunt Ila where ever you are in the great beyond. Thanks for some of my most treasured memories;-)
Ok...I'm already behind on my friend Julie's challenge to blog a "month of me". Julie thinks, and I agree that blogging is losing out to Facebook and we need to get back to the blog thing. So, I am inviting all my family bloggers to accept Julies's challenge. She's so right, it is a fun way to keep in touch and you can't share this much on Facebook! Even if it is just a sentence or two, write something about your day or yourself. One friend is going through the alphabet and I like that idea as well...

A...appetite. Today we had a church potluck luncheon after a morning at the temple to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. It was really fun and I picked up some new recipes for homemade salsa;-) I love Mexican food!

I must admit I sometimes get "stuck" on Cafe Rio, which is always a favorite, and am trying to branch out more. After all I am in Arizona! This week Micah and I discovered a new place, Macayo's which is located on a waterway. It was so nice to sit outside on their covered patio and watch the fish (big ones) swimming by along with a mamma duck with her little ones. I wish I had some pictures, but I didn't take my camera:( I will definitely be going back and will get some pictures next visit.

Anyway, appetite to me means Mexican food...now I will have to play catch up for the three days I am behind on the challenge!

To my kids...

My friend Julie has challenged us to be more faithful posting on our blogs...so I am trying to do just that! Thanks Julie for the "push"...

We just had stake conference this past weekend and as with our recent world conference, we have been reminded again of the importance of being good examples to our children. I am so blessed to have great kids and maybe I should take this opportunity to let them know how very much I appreciate each one of them and the love they show to me almost daily.

I don't know that I can take alot of credit for any of it, but amazingly you all turned out fantastic;-) So, in case I have not said it recently, I love you with all my heart and am so proud of each of you. Thank you too for all the beautiful grandchildren you have blessed me with and I am looking forward to even more! In case there is any question at all...this is what life is really all about and although the other accomplishments along the way are wonderful as well...nothing can even come close to the importance of family and our children in our lives. It's not that we have not had challenges along the way, but even though it may sometimes seem like the hardest thing we will ever do, it will also be the most important. This I know with all my heart...

Thanks guys, you're awesome!!!
